ACI Worldwide will provide merchants with access to over 70 BNPL lenders via a single integration

ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW), a leading global provider of real-time digital payment software, today announced ACI PayAfter, a new solution that enables merchants and payment service providers (PSPs) across the around the world to offer their clients a choice of more than 70 BNPL Options via a single integration.

The innovative user interface improves acceptance rates and serves a broader base of traditionally overlooked customers, driving sales for merchants worldwide.

For merchants and PSPs, ACI PayAfter offers a single app and contract that reduces onboarding complexity and cost, as well as faster time to market and actionable customer intelligence.

ACI PayAfter provides consumers with a BNPL option – ACI PayAfter – displayed at checkout, an application form and a single credit check, while providing access to several financing options that best suit their needs quickly and with a probability of higher approval. It eliminates the inconvenience of filling multiple loan application forms that collect multiple credit checks from BNPL lenders which ultimately leads to cart abandonment.

Studies show that 63% of Millennials and Gen Z consumers do not own a credit card and represent 40% of all consumers worldwide. At the same time, 42% of Gen Z and 69% of Millennials are more likely to purchase items if an BNPL option is offered. With ACI PayAfter, merchants and PSPs can offer their customers multiple financing options and higher approval rates than the market currently offers.

“With ACI PayAfter, merchants and PSPs can offer their customers a more inclusive experience and a wider choice of BNPL options that meet their needs, reducing the number of abandoned carts,” said Andrew Quartermaine, vice -president of ACI Worldwide. “The BNPL market excludes around 40-50% of potential consumers, including younger generations who do not wish to own credit cards and the unbanked and underbanked population, many of whom are creditworthy customers.”

“ACI’s single interface further democratizes payments by reducing barriers to access for consumers who have traditionally not been served by the financial system. With a portfolio of over 70 BNPL providers, which we plan to expand to hundreds of vendors, improves the consumer experience through a simpler checkout process and better approval rates, resulting in higher conversion for merchants and PSPs,” continued Quartermaine.

ACI PayAfter offers merchants and PSPs the flexibility to select the BNPL and funding options that are most relevant to their business and their customers.

“ACI is partnering with several BNPL players around the world. Being part of the ACI PayAfter network means that BNPL suppliers can take advantage of growth opportunities given ACI’s vast global reach,” concluded Quartermaine.

ACI PayAfter will be available to merchants using ACI Secure eCommerce and ACI Omni-Commerce.
